    Isn't this just peachy king!

    Recruits at Parris Island were brought out to enjoy the fireworks show tonight. That's their flashlights in formation on the parade deck. What a warm-n-fuzzy thing for the DI's to do.

    I was at PI for July 4th, and we got marched out to the grinder for the fireworks the same way. Our Drill Instructors actually took it kinda easy on us for the day too, looking back at it.

    Of course, on the 5th we more than made up for it!

    But yes, that was an experience to remember.

    The first 4th of July I spent in the Corps was in Nam.......what a show it was.

    Easter Sunday, 2003 of all days. We were cooking spam and Vienna sausages over a pallet fire when the IDF started coming in. F-ing republican guard. Couldn't even let us finish Easter dinner.

    If thats your Easter dinner you need to come up to Canada... I serve Turkey, Smoke ham, leg of lamb and sweet potatoe biscuits.... but no fireworks....only good food and good company

    lol not gonna lie.. I went to Parris Island for the 4th of July long weekend. It was one of the things I had been trying to do for a while now before I either PCS or EAS from Lejeune.

    They started moving us around at night...think they were trying to hide us from the gooks...New Years we saw DaNang then LZ Ross and then baldy all set of fire works...I don't know who started it but all of a sudden w all let loose..with tracers elumination rounds and even a cupple clay mores were set off...our 6 was screening at us and calling us a few choice names...said he was going to kill the one that started it..oooo we were all scared...gooks knew where we were after that I'm sure

    No im trying to re-enlist, apparently I am into S&M I like getting kicked in the nuts for little to no pay or thanks and come back asking for more. Also re-enlistment isnt guaranteed so I am planning for the worst and hoping for the best
