    Uniform regulations don't apply to civilians. If that's what they were, they can wear anything they want to (as long as they don't violate any "stolen valor" statutes). If they were Marines. Well, that's a choice they have to make. If they're violating any uniform regulations and get caught then they'll suffer the consequences for their decisions.
