Medals at burial
My father just recently passed and I would like to know what the protocol is for burying a vet with his medals? Any information would be appreciated.

Why not keep them yourself in memory of your father. He might like that.

Very sorry, also, to hear about your dad. I sent you a couple of PMs outlining some websites that sell medals, display cases, certificates of service etc etc so that perhaps you can have the same authentic medals and ribbons that are buried with him, as a keepsake, maybe for the family also.

You're welcome. I thought that this would remove the "either, or" aspect of your question about burying the medals or not. This way you can have your own set of medals for display. There are many websites like the ones I cited for you, but those are considered some of the best.
