Tattoo Removal?
Sorry for the redundant question, but I couldn't seem to find the exact answer I am looking for.
My question is this:
Do you have to disclose any removed tattoos? If you aren't asked, do you have to tell them you have had tattoos removed? I have seen some posts about having to get waivers for known removed tattoos, but not unknown removed tattoos. Is there a question on any form at MEPS or otherwise that asks this?
Thanks ladies and gentlemen!

Yes because all Tattoo removal leaves scarring. ( Former Tattoo artist ).
You don't want them to think you are into Scarification or Cutting.
That will get you DQ'd for sure.
Disclose everything to your recruiter.

Yes. You will have to do a tattoo screening form. On it it will say "Have you ever had any tattoo, brand or ornamentation that was concealed, removed, or altered?"

Will you be DQ'd anyway if you have them removed (leaving hardly any trace, if any) if they are in a restricted place? Head, hands, wrists, etc.?

You will need a waiver still.

Roger that. So it does not automatically DQ you then, you just need more waivers...anybody know if the removed tattoos would count towards the "max of 4 that are seen in PT" even though...they wouldn't be seen because they are removed? haha
Talking to an OSO Monday.

Thanks for the info, gents! Super nervous because I thought that even if they were removed I would be automatically DQ'd because they are on prohibited places. I'm not going to let removed tattoos keep me from being a Marine!

Happy V-day to you as well! I'll keep everyone posted (as I'm sure there are others confused about tattoo policy, still).

Brittney, go to my blogs and you can read the most updated version of the Tattoo policy if you want. I have 21 blogs so just look for it.
Huclebuk who poted on this thread is an Active Duty Recruiter also if you need more info from him.
Just a reminder to double check with the OSO, Monday is a Federal Holiday ( Presidents Day ).

okay, so I got handed over to a different OSO office (for some reason I got pinged at one two and a half hours away instead of the closer one) So this one sent me the tattoo screening form. It says "if candidate answers 'yes' to questions 3, etc, they are not eligible for commissioning." Well, duh, I do answer 'yes' because they are on my wrists, but that's why I am getting them removed. So, are they just going to trash my app. now that I answer yes for question 3, even though I am getting them removed? Specifically looking at Huklebuk or another recruiter...
