I've tried to find out Tattoo policy on the net but I seem to find many different policies or old policies.

How about this......don't get any if you don't have any right now or if you do let a recruiter check it out to see if it clears.

If you want one wait until you grad boot and MCT/ITB to blow your money on tats like so many Marines. Got paid today and they flock to the tattoes shops.....smh money out the door then cry broke next week.

Don't get any. Done. The new policy is nothing shows in PT gear. Take it from somone whose dealing with it.

It goes more in depth than that. You can have ones outside of PT gear, but you have to be able to cover them with your hand. No tattoo can be derogatory or convey any sort of affiliation with gangs and things of that sort. Like a swastika on your forehead. Yes you can cover it with your hand, but it is obviously out of regs.

Somewhere in the regs it clearly states, and I quote "We are the USMC, not a randy band of pirates or a motorcycle gang." I think that pretty much sums it up......
