Note: At the request of a member three posts were deleted in order to keep this thread in the Open area of the site. Said member feels this thread belongs in the Open area and those posts would require a move to a Marine only location. I concur. Nothing of substance to the thread has been removed.
Just a friendly reminder. Nobody zinged.

Here's what I think !
Guess you don't know that I'm a draftee Marine , as are my Army draftee brother and brother-in-law , all of us are Nammers !
When I got out , I never knew what to say to my brother-in-law about being in the Corps and then I brought up how my Marine brothers held up at Khe Sanh , and he just smiled and informed me of him being there too ! He's even got a newspaper article of the 1st Cav . arriving there on his " love me wall " .
Guess the Corps didn't have enough copters to do that , that day !
Brother - in -law is deceased now , only made it to the big 59 , age wise !
He can have all his stories , medals , Sgt. rank , his love me wall and anything else , as I'm glad that the Corps made me tough enough to make it past 59 ( will be 63 soon, brother is still over a year ahead of me and alive yet ) .
Now that's arrogance !

I sent these two fine articles to my wife and kids. My wife told me a while back that I should hold the 27 years I worked in prison and retired as a Captain higher than the time I spent in the MARINES. I told her real quick that it did not hold a light of my accomplishment of being a United States Marine Corps!!!!!! It will always be my highest honor I have received.
