What injuries in boot camp force a recruit to leave

My son broke his leg badly in boot camp at end of 1st month, tibia and fibula full break. He had to have a rod permanently inserted inside his tibia in order to put leg back together. It was a strange accident, but he can have full recovery. Anyway it will take him close to a year to get back to full strength. Is it possible for him to stay at MCRD until he can complete boot camp or MUST he get rolled out??

Highly unlikely they will keep him there that long. It's possible they may send him home on convo leave and require him to return. Another possibility is they'll discharge him.

Stay in close contact with the recruiter as they'll get the scoop for you.

Also, this website REQUIRES a completed profile. Thread locked until that occurs.

AND, moved to the Ask a Marine section. Once you complete your profile you are more likely to get answers from recruiters and folks 'in the know' here, as the section you posted in is more for our Corpsmen to converse with one another and just chat.
