Joining... Looking for advice on getting my 1st choice MOS

Hello there,

I'm joining the Corps, and I really want to get the MOS of Combat Camera (COMCAM).

I have former military friends, and their best advice to me was to no let MEPS talk me out of my desired MOS with a bonus (not worth it), and if they said that there wasn't a slot, than I should request to take OJT with an active unit and wait for my schooling.

Is this information accurate, and/or can you give me further advice?

You will never take OJT with a Marine Corps unit.

Make sure you sign a contract that has your stated COMCAM job on it. My buddy didn't. He's an idiot though, so its expected.

Before you ship to bootcamp you will sit down with a MEPS liason and if they no **** don't say "Your MOS is xxxx, here's the contract"...you're open contract and you're probably going to end up working with female Marines getting sexual assault accusations.
