Recruiter guaranteed my job.

Little while ago my recruiter guaranteed me mos 1371 (Combat Engineer)

I then got a call from a gunnry sergeant and he confirmed this and then I

went into the office of our stations SNCO and he confirmed it as well.


Question is, I was always under the impresion that recruiters guaranteed

you your field but your DI informed you of your exact job and its not that

I dont beleive them, it's just that I am wanting some clarification from

some other Marines into if this type of thing is common and if I should

delve further into this with my Recruiter.

(I am however excited about this, was at first to be a cbrn spec)

are you a reservist?....I am not aware of any way a recruiter, drill instructor, or anyone really can guarantee your exact MOS if you are active duty.

Then u arent guaranteed your MOS only the field. Unless they have changed things. Read the contract and confirm it says "1371"

Agreed, read the contract first. How far out from boot camp are you? Often times you'll learn what MOS you are before boot.

Also you dodged a bullet for sure dude, I know some engineers who were going on a MEU, but now they're headed for Traschcanistan because Obama is calling for 1400 more Marines. Needless to say they're ****ED.
