Can I go/leave boot camp as a Lance Corporal under these circumstances? Please Read.

Well, here is my situation. I know you can get promotions from doing things such as having college credits (12) or recruiting people (2) and I have done both.

I took a semester of college and earned 15 credit hours (12 required for a promotion) and just recently recruited 2 people who are now both in the DEP program which would qualify me for another promotion?

So can I be given the rank of Lance corporal since I have both way to be promoted? Or will I be stuck as a PFC?

    Thanks,
    Poolee Reed

There are actually more than those two ways to earn a promotion, but regardless of how many you qualify for, you will only get promoted to PFC.

Lance Corporal can only be achieved through being an honor grad... I think, dont quote me on that. But otherwise, you'll only get to PFC. This isnt like the Army where you can seriously get promoted to E-3 before boot camp ( like my friend is trying to do...). So enjoy that E-2 promotion.

I think I've heard of people getting specialist (E-4) before going to army basic training.

Lance Corporal is only achieved through Honor grad though. You gotta be better than all the other guides(if you're even guide) and really impress people. Leadership is the biggest thing, you might not even have the highest scores but if you're a good leader and they see it you're chances are good. They sometimes don't even promote the Honor grad LCpl is what a friend of mine who graduated in Oct. I watched him graduate and the honor grad didn't have the crossed rifles.
