All the Comm bubbas need to let the cat out of the bag.
I know the first step in your comm repair kit was the 3 foot drop test and then get a bigger hammer. You aint kidding me and sometimes it worked, so lets hear it.

Drop test works wonders. Even my instructors told us about it back in Comm School.

Most repairs were plug and play boxes back in the day, so re-seating things worked wonders. That is all the drop or hammer ever did. I prefeered to strip things down and put it back together. That worked a little better. That was stage one
Stage two was break out the test gear and start tracing. I was good at it.

One tool in the box was a cup of coffee. I was taught that in comm school. When you just can't figure it out, go away and have a cup. It works pretty good.

I bumped this cause I remembered something kinda funny/strange.
Remembered a SOP,, whenever I had to work on crypto stuff, I had to strap on my .45, and had a grunt I didn't know behind me with an M16. Both locked and loaded. Never knew who was supposed to shoot who.

Sort of, I think. I know no one was allowed in the room, and I sure was not allowed to put anything in my pockets and walk out. I couldn't even have a pensil or paper.
