Opinions wanted
Doc's,
photo is of a new design we are working on - honoring our FMF Corpsman.
However - we would ask for your feedback, thoughts, opinions, ideas.
Height is 1.5 inches, the caduceus is 1 inch tall. How does this look? What would you want changed ?

Good stuff, Sgt1966! I'm thinking that the purpose of any design, especially logos and such, is to make that design easily recognizable to the point where one only has to look at the design to know what it means....kind of like X for Xerox. If you are using words, abbreviations, keep in mind how much space will be used. Do you want the words or abbreviation to dominate the total design, to be half and half with the symbol, or do you want the symbol to dominate the design?
You have done some fine work. Good for you. On the pin could you center the caduceus. it looks a wee bit tilted. On the pin have you considered raising the caduceus a tad (there is some workable space between CORP__SMAN by changing the size of the font or the actual font style)? By doing this the two wings, along with the staff, will become an active part of the word CORPSMAN. The wings with their upswept design will become the main connector (binding factor) between word, design and symbol which, I think create balance.
Have the best day possible. Happy Thannksgiving to you and yours.
Adios,
Gary

Great design, Sgt1966. Question. Is the ring shown Sterling Silver? Are there options?
Please pass on my best to all those responsible for this craftsmanship and...Merry Christmas if I don't catch you before then.

Thank you for all the compliments and Merry Christmas to everyone!
This thread was created to get your opinions as we, USMC Veterans, value you and your Service! We have tried to design items which would also honor you and your service.
Yes - available in Sterling Silver, White Gold or Yellow Gold in 10k, 14k or 18k. And you get to specify the years of service you want. The years and "USN" are cast into each custom ring we make - not engraved or "soldered" on. Every item is custom made to your order. and 100% Made in USA.
However since you are asking. We are service disabled USMC Veterans who design and create fine Marine Corps Jewelry and licensed by the US Marine Corps. We realized there was not much on the market of quality Made in USA Corpsman Rings or pendants. We started thinking what you all may want - and well - best to ask you all what you think of the design ideas.
If you have design ideas or suggestions - let us know.
Our FMF Corpsman jewelry can be found at http://www.marinecorpsrings.com/FMF-...c19/index.html (that is also our website). Or give us a call at 1-866-545-1775
