Semper Fi to the Marine of Wisdom,

I am a Marine SGT from 1973-1979

I followed in my Dads foot steps to become one of the Few. My dad talked about Korea but not a lot. Speaking to my Aunt a few weeks ago I found out my dad was at Chosen. It explains a lot about my life with my dad. Now I understand he had post tramic syndrome. He stopped working when I was twelve year old and I never knew why. I would take day off of school to go the Doctor (psycologist ) and never knew what was wrong. We learned of the battle in Boot Camp of course. I thank the Commendant for dedicating this Birthday to those Marine. If anyone knew Sgt George Lynch from the Chosen Resivor let me know. HAPPY BIRTHDAY and Semper Fi

Not to be a hard azz, but this is the correct spelling for that particular Chosin.

I did the same. My dad was WW2, he was in 4th MarDiv in Iwo Jima and the pacific theater. He was in 4th Jasco - an early radar outfit. He was an operator. He died in 1977 at the age of 51.

I joined the Marines in 1967 and served through June of 1975. Two Honorable Discharges. No Rambo stuff. I just drove a truck.

My son joined the Army and is presently an E7 over 14 and stationed at Fort Story, VA with 3 tours of combat duty in IraQ. My daughter in law is a buck Sgt (E5) and has one tour of Kuwait under her belt. Four grandkids. Military brats. My sons last tour in Iraq, as an E6 (SSgt), he served as the company 1st Sgt as there were no real 1stSgts to fill the billet. He earned the Bronze Star for bringing all his troops home alive. I'm very proud of him. I'm very proud of my daughter in law.
