Re: Need for 2ndMedBatt Patch
by NavyDoc364 on 04-25-10 at 10:18 AM
Thanks alot for the heads up. I have looked over the suggested site and sent them an email. Hope to get results. How are things in the land of Gilbert Stewart. I lived in West Warwick for awhile . Lived at Hoskins Park while on board the USS Tarawa CVS-40. This was back in 1955 or so. We were tied up at NAS Quonset. Great winters there as I remember. (brrrr) The pizza though was outstanding. Great pizza place in Newport but I don't remember the name. Was also ther at charm school (OCS) in 1963.
Need 2ndMedBatt Unit Patch

Hi out there:
I'm new at this but here goes. I was in the 2nd Division, specifically the 2ndMedBatt in 1950, 1951, 1952, and 1953. We did all the things that you folks are doing now. Train, Train, Train, go to the Range, Train, and we went to Vieques. I don't reckon any of you do that any more. As a Navy type the Corps was a new and everlasting experience on me. I really enjoyed it. Even went to witness an A-bomb explosion in Nevada in 1952. May Day. I don't reckon you all do that anymore
