I was a drill instructor at MCRD San Diego 1957-1959 and throughout that time we taught Squads Right Drill. And, I believe you are correct that this later changed to Landing Party Manual Drill later and that this was the type of drill used from WW II on on to 1956 (?).

When I was in bootcamp at MCRD San Diego in 1956 and when I became a drill instructor in 1957 the close order drill was known as Squads Rigth Drill. Apparently before and after that time another form of close order drill was in use. What was that form of drill called?
