Hey rkruipers67, I do enjoy my grandkids. One is a tanker in the Army over in Iraq, he wanted to be a Marine, but he had asthma once when he was 11. I have a grandaughter who just graduated from Corona Del Mar H.S. I can't believe its been 50 yrs since I went to Parris Island.

Had to get my old swagger stick out to make sure of the date. I was on the USS Chilton APA 38. I still remember the beach landing and those planes overhead. We thought it was just a practice amphibious landing.

Thanks for the message. One of my top priorities is always taking pride in the Marine Corps and what I do and I know that goes for every one of the Marines in the picture. They are some of the best men I've ever come across and I am proud to call them friends.
