I can't comment on the thread you posted put I know a thing or two about how to qualify for 0321 even though I'm a poolee and my MOS is 0651 (Not to brag about what I know). But to be 0321 you gotta start off in any Infantry MOS or be 0621 Field Radio Operator.
***I'm not sure about the swim qual, I think that in the first phase of Recon School which is all water combat skills etc. if you pass that you're automatically CWS-1. I don't really know because a lot of the fresh outta boot camp Marines that get to Recon School, I suppose don't have a CWS-1. But now that I mention that, since Infantry get further training during swim qual week and have those three months at SOI I guess you get that CWS-1, but all matters aside. Everything else you need is:
Before anyone is able to be screened for Reconnaissance, those candidates must consider the prerequisites and adhere to the following:
-Updated and current physical
-General Technical (GT) score of 105 or higher (particularly, FORECON candidates must have a GT score of 115 or higher).
-Physical Fitness Test score of 275 (enlisted) and 285 (officer) or higher
-CWS-1 (1st Class) swim qualification*
-20/20 vision, with minimum correction allowed. Laser eye surgery is acceptable as long as 20/20 is achieved. Normal color vision (color blindness is acceptable if able to contrast between red and green)
-Good evaluation remarks; reach 4.8 or higher on both the Proficiency and Conduct report.
-No page 12 entries in service record book
-18-months minimum remaining on current enlistment contract upon completion of the -basic reconnaissance course
-Be able to obtain a "Top Secret" security clearance
-Have completed the infantry course at the Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry
