    Military Discounts!

Ok, I know we ALL need to save money right now...
I've learned that a lot of places don't OFFER a military discount, unless you ask

A few places I've discovered who give military discounts are:

Old Navy (during the 1st through the 4th of every month)
    Buckle
    Lady Foot Locker
    Foot Locker
    Aeropostale
    Home Depot
    Lowes

Plus, a lot of places will knock tax off if you mention military discounts, just because they feel like it. ESPECIALLY formal gown boutique's that aren't chains, jewelry stores, and furniture stores

Does anyone else have any stores to add?

Spencer's does, along with places like Verizon, AT&T, and I think Geico does too.

There's a thread in the forums somewhere with a huge list.

USAA gives the most military discounts

    Rank discount
    TIS discount
    TIG discount
    Deployment discounts
    Retired/Veteran discount
    Disabled Vet discount
    Age discount
    etc etc etc

I'm sure if you ask they may give you a discount for shooting expert on the range..... lol

Glad to help. I forgot about that.
When I Update the list every month I'll post it in the " Marine Spouse " Thread also.

I don't think K-mart and Michael's still give military discounts.. I've asked a couple of times to see... It may have recently changed.

Also, Sally Beauty Supply doesn't anymore.. at least they haven't honored it when I've asked. What they DO is they waive the fee for a Sally Card for active duty and their spouses.

Trade Secret used to offer a military discount also, but they quit about two years ago.

I never ask. I just take out my ID at any store and say very politely " I'd like to use my 10% off Military Discount Please ".

AT&T gave us ... a discount on our Mobile phone service ... four cell numbers. I thought that was pretty good. When my son went to Pensacola I went in to ask about different services because up until that time we had a very limited mobile service plan and I wanted to upgrade the service ..... well, when they found out why .... we (the family) got a discount on our monthly service. So definitely check out AT&T for a discount.

My husband always gets a discount where he golfs simply because they know his son is a Marine. I've also gotten a 10 percent discount at Home Depot when I just happened to go in with a my son is a U.S. Marine t-shirt. Same thing has happened to me at Starbucks .... I've ordered and because I've something on that states my son's service the coffee has been free.

I appreciate these gestures of gratitude. The discount on our AT&T monthly mobile bill is really helpful on a tight budget ... and it is very much appreciated.

Foreverproud, I'd say you're really lucky! Most of those discounts are only with proof of service like an active duty ID or dependant ID.

ATT gives a great discount That's why we've stuck with them for the last three years.

Everytime I see a mom wearing moto-gear, I get really happy. It's nice to see families who support their children's decisions.
