Ahh I didn't. I never once gave the characteristic of being a "douche" to the age group of 19 year olds. I said I don't want to ACT LIKE a douchebag and be a 19 y/o MP who takes his job too seriously. Such as abusing authority, just because he could. Pulling people over for a routine traffic stop, and having them get out of the vehicle so I can search it on probable cause just to inconvience them for an hour or so. etc....

Ok so I signed for 6 active and 2 reserve (told me I had to sign 8) as 5811. I can't remember the exact code but I remember it only had MP and Correctional Specialist. I will go into boot as a PFC so when I get out I will be PFC and I will do the whole Lcpl deal with referrals once I am doing my MOS schooling. How do yall like the MPs? Everyone tells me I am going to hate my job but I DO NOT want to be like the other douchebags who are 19 y/o's with too much authority and think they are touch ****.
My plan is to do two years as an MP and hopefully get close to E4 then lat move(or whatever it's called) to 0311. Maybe having my higher rank will allow me to pick my postition in the infantry. I really want to carry the M249. So with all this in mind, any advice? I come from a family full of Marines and am not naive to this whole ordeal but still pretty ill-informed.

The issue isn't you lat-moving from the MP field. The issue is you lat-moving into a line company and being the boot NCO behind the curve and under the tutelage of a lower ranked Marine.

If you want an 03 slot go get it. Don't expect to jump over at the 2 year mark

Actually if you want to get literal about it I gave the characterics to the douchebag, not the 19 y/o's. "but I DO NOT want to be like the other douchebags" Then I gave the description to the main character (douchebag) of being a 19 year old with too much authority and thinking they are tough sh!t. It really dosn't matter what you ment, to say, or how you ment to say it. You called Marines "Douchbags", whether you want to admit to it or not. You keep going on about how your dad, and brother are Marines, and using that as a leg. Personally I don't give a crap who your Dad or Brother are. There Marines, great I'll drink a beer with them any day of the week. However you have no salt compared to the Marines on here, or your Dad and brother, your words mean nothing until you earn the title. Your tone, and mannerisms speak alot for yourself, you are a selfish little kid, who thinks the world revolves around you. You speak in terms that refer to your self, and act like you don't care about others or team work. You talk as if its all about you, and screw the other Recruits, and Marines that get in your way. Let me tell you something punk, if I wanna judge a Poolee on here by the words they speak, and how they present themselves, that is my right. I've done more things in life, and seen enough crap in the world to make an informed decision about someone based on there mannerisms than you can even comprehend. You Sir, are no different than any other snot nosed shower shoe poolee or wannabe on here. However I'm not going to break it down any more barny style for you, since other Marines, including myself tried explaining it to you already. It seems as if I have hurt someones feelings? EVERY Marine I know would rather fight it out, not go to the name-calling business. Sure, I may be only be a poolee and yes you have been through recruit training and seen more military things than I have but I will never stand down to someone who trys to put me down. That characteristic right there will help me in my quest to become a Marine and hurt me at the same time. Hell, you have one life, can't be a pussy the whole time!!! You gave a reason. You started the thread by calling Marines "douchebags." Regardless of of context, intent, or content, you insulted MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS. Folks who have EARNED their right in my Corps. You have not. No one here is "talking ****" except for you. The internet has granted you a level of ambiguity which would never be afforded in a face-to face conversation. If you were face-to-face with any Marine here, I suspect your tone would change considerably (or we would change it for you). You are a little pee-on whio hasn't accomplished squat. You are riding on the back of you father and brother's accomplishments thus far. That means jack ****. How about you check the attitude, apologize, and start over. If you want help, we will give it...but not to a smart assed kid who talks ****....that is what you are right now. It is up to you to change that.
