Trying to become a Marine. Criminal Record Problem Please Help

I have been trying to join the armed forces for over a year now, before i wasn't able to due to a pending court case, but that is now resolved. Originally i wanted to join the Marines but the first recruiter i talked to discouraged me in saying that with my criminal record (2 possession charges of marijuana, 2 driving after suspension, all of witch over 2 years ago) that i have no chance at getting in the corps. So my next step was try national guard/army/navy/airforce but i just couldn't see myself giving myself to something for so long that i didn't choose. I am 21 years old, strong, not allergic to anything, fast learning, and ability to listen to orders without mistake. So my question is:

Is there Anything At All i can do to help myself to get in like record expunges or anything. Personally i have it pretty rough here and i have no future i wouldn't care signing up for 8 years active if i needed to if that helped me to get in, i just need to start a new life, staying here is going to put me in jail or worse. Please if anyone has any ideas for me feel free to email me at steve.sicard@yahoo.com

I appreciate any advice or support and as today is Veterans Day i want to say Thank you all, and i hope to be within your ranks as fast as humanly possible.

You need to go back to the recruiter that discouraged you and tell him even if chances are slim you still want to take a shot at it.
