If you want to read about Marines then you need to reas West Dickens Avenue, A Marine at Khe Sanh. Great Book on the men of the 26th Marines who lived through seventy seven days of combat.

The title of this thread scared me for a minute. The last USMC related book I read was "Marshalling the Faithful" about Marines' first experiences in Vietnam. I also read Rifleman Dodd after that, which isn't about Marines, but it is on the Marine Corps reading list and it is a very good book.

Read "Ender's Game" by Orson Card. It's on the Commandant's Reading List as well. It's a thinker though. There's far more to the book than the story.
