Standard Notations:
Words in italics are the unit response to the DI's call.
The notation "A-" or "a-" denotes the chopped DI sound similar to "uh" making it more of a run-on to the following word, thus the reason for the hyphen.
The notation "--" indicates a pause in cadence call appropriate for the rythym of the step.

Running Cadences
ok, just a quick question, how many different Cadences are there? i know of...uhh...one... it starts off "everywhere we go, people wanna know, who we are, so we tell them, the united states Marine Corps." is how is starts, after that all i can remember is"they put me on that silver jet, they put me on that battle field, they gave me a rifle and taught me to kill" its the one i hear most often while running, while you are running it helps you concentrate, and..its catchy. but when i actually get to Parris Island, do they have specific ones for each Platoon? and..which one is your favorite one?

I just found this one, Marines love sick twisted humor, haha:
Late one night, dark and dreary
I went right down to the cemetary
It don't matter, old or new
Just as long as she's cold and blue
I'm a necropheliac
Roll a dead beyotch in the sack
I'm a necrophiliac
Roll a dead beyotch in the sack
Grabbed my shovel and dug all night
Just about dawn I found my fright
She had long white hair and long azz nails
With a p*ssy so rotten it was covered in snails
I'm a necropheliac
Roll a dead beyotch in the sack
I'm a necrophiliac
Roll a dead beyotch in the sack

Loured him in with a piece of bread.
Then I crushed his little fu**ing head.
Blood and guts.

drink the blood.
Eat the guts.

Suzy said to me one day long ago.
She said honey please dont join the Corps.
They like to do nothing but fuss n fight.
N they look kinda wierd with those high n tights.
They got bad table manners and they are so crude.
They got a warm sense of humor and their jokes are rude.
I said suzy let me tell ya what ill do.
Ill join the corps just for a year or two.
I packed my trash and I headed to the plane.
I went to the place where they made Marines.
Parris Island was the name of the place.
The first thing I saw was the drill instructors face.
He had razor creases and a smokey bear.
Mountain climbin recruits everywhere.

Navy, navy I'm in doubt
Why your bellies are stickin' on out
Is it whiskey or is it wine
Or is it a lack of PT time
GI beans and nasty gravy
Same old chow served in the navy
But listen skipper don't feel blue
Nasty army's jacked up too
Every where we go
People wanna know
Who we are
Where we come from
We come from an island
A motivated island
They call that island
Parris Island
It aint like the army
At Fort Jackson
It aint like the navy
Down in Florida
It aint no fly boy
Over in Texas
Everywhere we go
People wanna know
Who we are
Where we come from
We come from a depot
A motivated depot
They call that depot
San Diego
It aint like the army
At Fort Jackson
It aint like the navy
Down in Florida
It aint no fly boy
Over in Texas
Mama and Papa were lyin in bed
Mama rolled over this is what she said
Gimmie some that devil dog, that long that hard that devil dog
Gimmie some that devil dog, that long that hard that devil dog
Up in the mornin with the rising sun
Mama and Papa gonna have some fun
Mama and Papa were lyin' in bed
Papa rolled over this is what he said
Gimmie some that kitty cat, that wet that sweet that kitty cat
Gimmie some that kitty cat, that wet that sweet that kitty cat
Oh yeah
Feels good
Real good

Not sure if this was posted. It's kind of sick, but we sang it during the Boston Marine Corps Honor 5k Run we did and it was funny. Especially when we'd start to pass cheering people because all of a SSgt would start to whisper and edit his words
-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
Burn the town and kill the people
Throw some napalm in the square
Do it on a Sunday morning
While the people are at prayer
Throw some candy in the school yard
Watch the kiddies gather 'round
Slap a mag in your M-16
And mow those mother f*****s down
