NBA Players, psychologically distraught....."NBA Players Lives Matter"......

The Milwaukee Bucks did not take the floor for Wednesday’s playoff game against the Orlando Magic and are striking in the wake of the shooting of Jacob Blake.
All of Wednesday’s NBA games have since been postponed.
The Magic initially took the court for pregame warmups, but left after Bucks players didn’t show up.
    NBA postpones Wednesday games

After the game was postponed, the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder planned to walk out on their Wednesday evening matchup according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania. The Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers had discussions to do the same for their Wednesday night Game 5, according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes.
The NBA later announced the postponement of all three games scheduled for Wednesday.

“The NBA and the NBPA today announced that in light of the Milwaukee Bucks’ decision to not take the floor today for Game 5 against the Orlando Magic, today’s three games – MIL-ORL, HOU-OKC and LAL-POR have been postponed,” a joint statement from the NBA and NBPA reads. “Game 5 of each series will be rescheduled.”
Walkout talk started after Jacob Blake shooting

Talks of a walkout surfaced after the shooting of Blake, a 29-year-old Black man and father of three. Video surfaced late Sunday of police in Kenosha, Wisconsin shooting Blake in the back multiple times, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down, according to his father.

Some players were hesitant to participate in the NBA restart, wary of taking focus off the nation’s race reckoning in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police. The shooting of Blake has renewed those concerns.
Bucks players attempted to reach Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul from their locker room on Wednesday, according to The Athletic. The Magic, meanwhile, declined to accept a forfeit of Wednesday’s game, according to the report.
    Players ‘psychologically distraught’

Sources told Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes that a sizable faction of players are psychologically distraught by the shooting. The shooting has led to days of unrest and protest in Kenosha that have resulted in two shooting deaths. A white 17-year-old named Kyle Rittenhouse of Antioch, Illinois was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree intentional homicide
Bucks guard George Hill gave voice to concerns over playing on Monday.

“We shouldn’t have even come to this damn place, to be honest,” Hill said on Monday. “I think coming here just took all the focal points off what the issues are.”
Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet echoed Hill’s sentiment on Tuesday in support of a Bucks protest. Kenosha is around 45 miles south of Milwaukee.

“Would it be nice if, in a perfect world, we all say we're not playing, and the owner of the Milwaukee Bucks — that's going to trickle down,” VanVleet said on Tuesday. “If he steps up to the plate and puts pressure on the district attorney's office, and state's attorney, and governors, and politicians there to make real change and get some justice. I know it's not that simple.

“But, at the end of the day, if we're gonna sit here and talk about making change, then at some point we're gonna have to put our nuts on the line and actually put something up to lose, rather than just money or visibility.”
    Management backs players

Bucks senior vice president Alex Lasry voiced his support of the players’ decision.

“Some things are bigger than basketball,” Lasry wrote on Twitter. “The stand taken today by the players and org shows that we’re fed up. Enough is enough. Change needs to happen. I’m incredibly proud of our guys and we stand 100% behind our players ready to assist and bring about real change.”
Lasry is the son of team co-owner Marc Lasry.
Magic ownership released a statement as well:

“Today we stand united with the NBA Office, the National Basketball Players Association, the Milwaukee Bucks and the rest of the league condemning bigotry, racial injustice and the unwarranted use of violence by police against people of color.”
    What’s next?

What’s next is not clear. Players have called for a meeting at the NBA’s Disney World campus Wednesday evening to discuss the next steps, according to The Athletic.
Most playoff series remain in the first round, while the Raptors, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat advanced to second-round series that had yet to begin. The Bucks entered the playoffs with the NBA’s best record and were among the favorites to win an NBA championship.
Bucks players made clear on Wednesday what their priorities are. Whether they move on to compete for championship among ongoing racial unrest in the United States remains unclear.

The guy who was shot is a thug who was armed with a knife and refusing police commands!
Then the idiot reaches into his car where his 3 sons are! The police officer shoots him not knowing if he has another weapon in that car?
If I'm that cop? I'm going home that evening! Blake made his choice of three options?
Going to jail /the hospital /morgue! he made his choice and now he is whining like a - - - - - ! thing that ticks me off is he'll be rich very soon! I have zero sympathy for him and the riots are pure Marxist revolution tactics!........NBA players are gullible!

I'm fine with doing away with the NBA. Let them go out and get real jobs.
The NFL can follow right behind them.

At least the shooting victim (they're all victims, ask them) won't be raping anyone anymore. His days of fighting the Po-leese are now over as well.

For those unfamiliar with the black projects; the plural of Po-leese is Po-leese's.

I'm OK with all the above.......but, for Gods Sake don't stop Professional Chess Playing.....I love watching all the action on the Board. It amazes me how they move their players with so much Grace and precision. Time just flies by when you watch 2 World Class Champions engaging in Mortal Chess Combat.......

this stupidity is going to end badly... the "stupids" are going to push, push, push, all in the name of "justice and equality", until the "silent majority" gets completely fed up, and a whole bunch of rioters, looters, thugs, fools, and POLITICIANS that have done nothing about the trouble are going to get hurt, and hurt badly..... a MOB is never a pretty thing to see, but when that "silent majority" has enough, and "MOBS UP", vigilante justice will be swift, final, and irrevocable..... as far as the "major league professional sports" are concerned, the PEOPLE should vote with their wallets... they can ALL go out of business for all I care, and then perhaps they will learn to keep their politics and their profession separate.... when I am paying to watch a game, I do NOT want to watch the players "protesting" about ANYTHING... play the game, stupid....

I along with many others, got tired of the mixing of politics and sports. Sports are supposed to be, or at least result in, escapes from the everyday world. But when the sport is combined WITH the nonsense of the everyday world, it loses its appeal quickly. So baseball, NFL, NBA, NHL-----I can't watch the never ending mixing of politics with games, especially when the players themselves have no idea of what is behind the planned dissent. Short conclusion? Fk em
