    I didn't know all this.....

For the younger set who turn up their noses at the words feminists and feminism or scoff that feminism is a dirty and utterly pointless word please read this and realize the following list is of SIX things a woman couldn’t do in 1971 – yes the date is correct 1971.
In 1971 a woman could not:
    1. Get a Credit Card in her own name – it wasn’t until 1974 that a law forced credit card companies to issue cards to women without their husband’s signature.
    2. Be guaranteed that they wouldn’t be unceremoniously fired for the offense of getting pregnant – that changed with the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978.
    3. Fight on the front lines – admitted into military academies in 1976 it wasn’t until 2013 that the military ban on women in combat was lifted. Prior to 1973 women were only allowed in the military as nurses or support staff.
    4. Take legal action against workplace sexual harassment. Indeed the first time a court recognized office sexual harassment as grounds for any legal action was in 1977.
    5. Decide not to have sex if their husband wanted to – spousal rape wasn’t criminalized in all 50 states until 1993.
    6. Obtain health insurance at the same monetary rate as a man. Sex discrimination wasn’t outlawed in health insurance until 2010 and today many, including sitting elected officials at the Federal level, feel women don’t mind paying a little more.
Oh, and one more thing, prior to 1880 which is just a few years before the photo of this very proud lady was taken, the age of consent for sex was set at 10 or 12 in more states, with the exception of our neighbor Delaware – where it was 7 YEARS OLD!
Feminism is NOT just for other women.
    KNOW your HERstory.

    Ahhh...."feminism".....my brief, restrained take:

After five decades of it current feminism has long since left the concept of equality and more about equal outcomes.

It's devolved into entirely something else and the consequences and ramifications of it are becoming manifest.

But....that's just me and all I'd say about it on an open forum....to each their own opinion on this subject.

Do carry on.....a good day to all.

shows how "the road to hell is paved with good intentions".... what started out as a movement to get women "equal protection under the law" and fair treatment in the workplace, has turned into a "man bashing lesbian lovefest" with a little bit of "hate Trump and all his supporters" thrown in for good measure..... JMHO, of course.....

    Top of the mornin' Oldtop....

A large demographic of the contemporary masculine male has become quite aware of it and the total ramifications are yet to be fully realized.

Most men today don't seem to mind the way the woman's movement has turned out, they're a bunch of girly men don't you know. Now, us Type A alpha males look at thing quite a bit differently.

All these laws they have today, and they don't work. I remember back in the day when our society was self correcting, if a puke got out of line he immediately had his asss kicked. He learned something and that was that. Now we have trials going on for years and people are shooting each other over bs. Getting something for nothing seems to rule the day. Work ethic, what's that? Another benny of back in the day is the ladies were attracted to MEN, today, not so much. It's how much do you make? Just saying.

all of those "laws" are pure BS in any case, they're nothing but a bit of "feel good" salve for the masses.... they're by and large unenforceable, and serve no useful purpose other than to make the gullible believe that they are somehow "protected".... all the hoopala about "bullying" for example... bullying has, and always will exist... the only real way to stop someone from bullying you is to FIGHT BACK... you do not have to win the fight, just fight back, and the bully will leave you alone or go pick on someone else... bullies are usually cowards at heart, and need only pop them once or twice and they move on.... just sayin... today, everyone expects the government to do something to stop the bullying instead of defending themselves.... we have become a nation of wimps.....
