    Question about disability. severance pay

So it unfortunately looks like I'm going to be Meically Separated for a pain disorder. I was asking around about the lump sum some people get upon separation. I didn't know you only get it for under 30%. So how does it work over 30% as my condition automatically warrants a 40%.

file your claim with the VA immediately upon discharge.. use the med board results and recommendation as supporting evidence when filing your claim. Be advised that VA ratings and Military med board ratings MAY BE DIFFERENT !!! Be sure to have EVERY disability you have listed on your FINAL / DISCHARGE Physical, that will make it easier to get service connection for those disabilities not listed in your Med Board Findings....

It's essential that you submit your VA claim as quickly possible after being discharged, citing your med board results as proof. Remember that ratings from the VA and the military could vary. In order to boost your chances of receiving access to services for conditions not reported by the medical board, make sure all of your limitations are recorded on your final physical exam.
