To Save Itself, Deep State Rakes Constitution Over Coals
By Brig Gen (ret) Blaine Holt Thursday, 18 May 2023 10:03 AM EDT Current | Bio | Archiv
Nearly every morning in America we are greeted with another piece of news to affirm what We the People have known for some time now.
Our republic. You know? The one that Ben Franklin challenged us to hold on to, is wrecked.
The most salient question is, can we save it?
Are we willing to?
Or, are we happy in our complacency?
Thinking, even if subconsciously, it's OK the goverment will somehow save us; bail us out.
Maybe we can save the U.S., but: we had better start with sobering, brute-force honesty.
Our federal government stands in material breach of the grand bargain, our U.S. Constitution. Oaths of office be damned.
We need look no further than the anti-climactic, closing curtain on the John Durham investigation. It took four years, millions of dollars and two national elections during which the public was shielded from the facts concerning the repeated and continuous assaults on a duly elected administration.
With no prosecutions recommended among the those who committed crimes against our republic, the clear result of Durham’s circus is an affirmation that there truly is a deep state and that they operate with a very different system of justice than the American public.
The resultant sum total of that equation: "rules for thee, not for me."
That sum also equals a heavy price we pay —daily. Sadly, many do not even realize the very real penalty we actually pay: in the form of the loss of our ideals and freedoms.
Our nation's heritage evaporates before our very eyes - daily.
To those wearing tinfoil hats - or not, John Durham has made certain we know that Equal Justice Under the Law under the 14th Amendment is purely ornamental.
Election interference at the highest levels of influence is glossed over because the ends justify the means. What about Hillary Clinton getting a pass?
Essentially, the Durham report turned out to be a big fat nothing-burger — about as anticlimactic as Geraldo Rivera’s live coverage of opening Al Capone’s vault 35 years ago.
Any recourse?
Nope.
The FBI released a statement that they already fixed the Durham concerns so . . . go away peasant; nothing to see here.
There is an argument that the Durham investigation itself was election interference and that it skewed results in the 2020 and 2022 general elections.
Anyone?
See the U.S. Constitution Article I Section 3 if you are curious"
"All elections shall be free and equal, and no power, civil or military, shall at any time interfere to prevent the free exercise of the right of suffrage."
Surely the GOP oversight committee in Congress will go after some of this illegality?
Don’t hold your breath.
So far, the "good guys" have only produced embarrassing moments on C-SPAN and great theater. Be it Laptop-gate, China infiltration, Afghanistan, our borders, Ukraine and more, the Republicans can’t even keep star witnesses from winding up as "disappeared," or "suicided."
DOJ completed the recent "cleanup" by ordering the IRS to remove the entire investigative team in the Hunter Biden investigation.
This does not indicate a fear that the Durham probe is out for all to see.
No one is coming.
If the federal government is repugnant to the Constitution and refuses to hold itself to account, there is but one recourse.
The federal branches are in breach of contract.
We the People must recognize as much.
In the federal system the government holds the "Trump Card," with the Supremacy Clause and the Interstate Commerce Clause (ICC).
If the feds are in breach, then it would be logical to believe that the 10th Amendment or Sovereignty of the States takes supremacy.
The obvious and most dangerous breach is America’s wide-open borders. President Biden and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas refuse to uphold their sworn duty and make good on Article 4 Section 4:
"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence."
In case you missed it, "invasion" is the operative word here.
Instead of a "great divorce" or a 19th century style seccession movement, what if we simply bound together a constitutional sanctuary of states that held the 10th Amendment to be superior to the Supremacy Clause and ICC until such time that the federal government was following the Constitution?
How in the world there aren’t 34 states signed on to use Article V and call for a Convention of States to bypass D.C. and propose amendments to the Constitution is a head-scratcher.
Could a group of constitutional sanctuary states push back on federal overreach?
If D.C. will not indict the deep state, states could ensure that these unelected, lawless authoritarians have near-zero power while the federal level remains rudderless.
It is time to spark a national discussion about the role of the federal government, self-governance and whether we are justly represented.
Too bold an idea?
Not considering where we are now: financial meltdown looming; sovereignty hanging by a thread; fentanyl crisis of epic proportions; and the uni-party hoax of the week.
If now is not a good time to take back control of our government, when is?
Until the feds are no longer in breach of contract, state-led, self-governance courtesy of the 10th Amendment, led by the American people seems our most survivable path forward.
Our Founders dared greatly — and maybe it’s time we embrace that same bold vision for freedom.

That's a beautful Shepherd in your profile pic. We had Shepherds growing up, but at about 12 years of age, they had hip dysplasia and had to be euthanized. I loved those dogs...
