Camp LeJeune was my first permanent duty station out of MOS school. Some things never change. Was there recently and the military surplus store "Saigon Sams" is still right there on the main drag - just like it was back in 1973! Didn't stop and go in but should have - just for old times sake.

I too went to Lejeune, for a year, after MOS school, while I waited for an opening somewhere in the world and a top secret clearance, but very few of us had cars in those days. Four or five out of every couple of hundred, so that made it an entirely different world.----went back there in 1996 en route to PI and it was virtually unchanged, Saigon Sam's included.
