I am 19 and attending college full time. I have always wanted to be a United States Marine, but after working with recruiters in high school, I decided to go to college first as my parents wished. I was looking into joining the Reserves as a way to earn the Title and serve all while going to school. I was hoping to attend recruit training the summer after highschool but could not due to the fact that I would miss too much of my first semester of college, and was already committed to the university.

My question is, now that I am in college and my spring semester ends for summer break (which is around 3 months or so) much earlier than highschool (Beginning of May vs. almost June), would I be able to join the Marine Corps Reserves and still be back in time for the Fall semester that begins towards the end of August? Have any Marines on this site done this or know a Marine who has?

Any other advice about this topic and the Marine Reserves in general is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
