    Questions

So first off, finally made it. Proud to be a Marine. How do I change my status on here from poolee to Marine? Second, simple uniform question, when they issue you your dress blue coat at rec. training are the buttons already anodized or do I have to go get new ones? Just needed a little help that is all thank you and Semper Fi.

Congrats on becoming a Marine ..... and welcome to the Marine Corps family.
Enjoy your leave home with family & friends.
PM Sgt Leprechaun or Rocky C, they'll be able to change your status to Marine for you.

    Semper Fi Marine!

    anodized

Smack me in the noggin with a brick if i'm wrong on this...

Wayback when the Marines I went thru bootcamp with ,
actually took the Anodizing OFF the buckles and buttons of ,
ALL the Brass we owned....and Had to "Shine it up" using "OUR"
    choice of POLISHING AGENTS= brasso-duraglit- or "BUFF-YOURASS-OFF"
    IFFIN you run out...

IF the gears the same ,, I'd guess the call is yours ???
Wear it till it "Scuzzes up" and buy more ?
    or GOOGLE ?

anodizing is nothing more than a "ClearCoat" of lacqure (sp)

Another Marine can correct me on this if I'm wrong, but I believe what you are issued in boot camp, the buckles and buttons are now anodized.
