    I was at L.Z. Margo. Sept. 13 1968. F.O. 81 mortars, Hotel Company, 2/26.

    I was in echo co. 2/26 at LZ Margo the Sept 16-19 1968 . our co. was on a ridge across from Marge 1st day when the point came under attack, next day moved back to Margo, my mortar squad was on the ajoining hill face from lz during the mortar attack, next day was on the ridge west of lz again mortars and rockets.

    Russ, I don't know remember either. But I think the 3/26 had already been assigned to 1st. Mar.Div. in Quang Nam. Memory ain't great anymore. I think it was in 3rd Mar Div. area of operation, brother.

    It was up by the D think it was an old Army LZ we came over from either LZ Stud or Camp Carroll that was a very long time ago but am sure for some Marines it must of seemed like yesterday Go Easy Semper Fi

    LZ Margo

    LZ Margo is in a bend north side of the Cam Lo, 17 kilometers west-northwest of Camp Carroll. I still do not understand why the entire battalion was ordered into that tiny perimeter. Any body have a clue?

    Brother, I still wonder why we had to do a lot shet we did! I believe most of the time, it was to draw the gooks out.
