Merry Christmas 1943 From The 2nd Marine Raider Battalion

    From an isle down south
    an' a long ways west,
    I send your Season's Wishes
    for the best.
    I send my love
    and thoughts sincere,
    I send my hopes
    for the coming year.
    I'll breathe a prayer
    for a Nation Free,
    and I hope next Christmas
    I can send you ME.

Christmas message I sent from Bougainville 1943.

    Merry Christmas to all!

    Gung Ho,

    Ray

Sgt Leprechaun, On board ship we had a sort of a one page newspaper they handed out. This was taken from that, On boad the U.S.S. George Clymer going to Bougainville for the invasion November 1, 1943.

I have a V-Mail Christmas Greeting sent from New Caledonia I will post on my albums and pictures.

    Gung Ho,

    Ray

Great! I've seen a few of those from other ships, so I'm familiar with the 'format' so to speak. Matter of fact, the USS Nashville did one Christmas of 98 when I was aboard her.

Thanks sir. Have a great New Year!
