My father, Sergeant Rogers
My father, (the Marine in the picture) told me a story of his days as a marksmanship instructor on Marine base Quantico. He told me of his coaching of USMC Lieutenants, and of foreign officers. One such story was from a time he coached a Marine officer from Taiwan. This officer was coached by my father and eventually reached expert after what my father described as a difficult teaching period. Before the officer left, he told my father, "The US. Marines are by far the best shooters I have ever encountered and I am very grateful for your help Sergeant." The Officer then gave his insignia to my father. This story makes me proud to be the son of a United States Marine.
