Wedding leave advice/PRP Kings Bay

Fiancé headed to Kings Bay, very shortly under PRP. Due to school delays etc...planned wedding date is only 3 wks after arrival to Kings Bay. Can't request leave until arrival at permanent duty station, what are the chances of being granted leave for a wedding once he arrives , with only a 3 wk request ? AND, I've heard he might be considered in student status for 30 days, during orientation---will he be allowed to request leave during that first 30 days ? Thanks !

Hi, Lynn! This is impossible to know unless he can talk to the person who would actually approve the leave. (And even then things could change.) Some units are fairly liberal with leave and some aren't, and I don't know anything about Kings Bay in particular. My personal experience when my husband and I got married was that he started asking for leave 3 months in advance and it didn't get approved until the day before the wedding.
