Before shipping to Parris Island in May I had asked around on here for some opinions on shipping with an open contract. Although quite a bit of people told me not to ship with an open contract, it was basically my only option. I really didn't want to go on an open contract, but someone on this site (can't remember who exactly) told me in the chat room that if I wanted to be a Marine bad enough, it wouldn't matter what MOS I got.

Well, I shipped on an open contract and it was the best decision I've ever made. Now I'm a Marine and I didn't get an MOS that was very disappointing (5800 MP). So whoever it was that told me to suck it up and go, thanks a lot!
