Doc there is no apology needed from you EVER. It was probably something I did on my end. Hell I don't know to tell the truth. I had just noticed that my friends list went from 121 down to 119 and I knew when Achped deleted his profile that would be 1 but not 2 gone. I had looked at the friends editor thing and there were not check boxes by your name and thought I had done something to upset you. All fixed now. Water under the bridge

We all know who our friends our and no need to fret over a check in the box.

As for poolees and wannabes I have tried to maintain a personal policy to not add them until after they are wearing the EGA. There is quite a few on the pending side just waiting.

Thanks for asking Doc. Actually, the older one gets the effects of frostbite, although years in the past in regards incidence, seem to multiply. Incidentally, the C&P examiner in my case for my frostbite VA claim was a Guatemalan who had never seen snow, and the only freezing temperatures that he ever encountered was in removing the ice cube tray from the freezer! Oh well, ya can't win 'em all, but it would be nice to break even a time or two.

Is it just me, or do we have an abnormal percentage of Marines on this board who seem to be either clearly suffering from PTSD or are in the early stages of that malady? As you well know, PTSD tends to progress from the Acute Stage to the Chronic. Therefore it behooves any person who exhibits any of the diagnostic criteria to seek compensation from the VA as a matter of record. As we know, the starting date for compensation is the date of the initial claim even though that claim was denied.

The sad thing is that I see too many of our Bros trying to take on the VA on their own. I'd argue that in every case that claimants need a "friend in court." This friend needs to be someone who is familiar with the VA claims system, and who would not be discouraged and would keep up the fight for the claimant. As has been mentioned on these boards, a professional advocate available through one of the service organizations is a good choice. Personally, I'm prejudiced in the direction of Disabled American Veterans for representation. The important thing is that claimants must know that to take on the VA mano a mano is to ensure that you will probably lose every round.

As one of a multitude of Marines who owe their lives to a "Doc," what can I say but thank you for your services over many years to our Brothers when their lives were hanging by a thread. Guess I could ask what you did in your "spare time" (TIC) but something tells me I'd rather not. I too work with PTSD sufferers, and for many years did the C&P exams and re-exams for the VA. I am particularly concerned with PTSD sufferers who, for the most part, freak out when they seen what the VA wants in the way of supporting documents. You mentioned Korea and Vietnam vets, and I could add that the last two vets that I consulted with were WW II guys. Yeah....there are still a few of us around.
