Military Biography:

SSgt Edwards was born in Greer, SC on 10 January 1981. He entered the United States Marine Corps in June of 1999. Upon completion of basic training, Pvt Edwards attended Fire Direction Control Course in Fort Sill, OK to become a Fire Direction Control Man. After graduating basic MOS school, PFC Edwards was assigned to HQ BTRY, 11th Marines, Camp Pendleton, CA to assume the job of a Field Artillery Surveyor. OJT would suffice until he attended a formal school. LCpl Edwards attended several formal schools while being stationed in CA. These schools included MOUT Instructors Course, Survey School, Corporal’s Course, and Marine Corps Martial Arts Green Belt Instructor’s Course. Sgt Edwards requested to attend Marine Security Guard School in September 2002 and graduated on February 21 of 2003. After reporting to Tirana, Albania and completing a successful tour there, he reported to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 24th of 2004. Accomplishments on the program include overseeing a massive overhaul of Post 1, the react room, and the Marine BEQ in Kuala Lumpur. Over 80 work orders were written up, addressed and supervised to improve not only the operational capabilities of the detachment, but the comfort and morale as well. Sgt Edwards reported to Ljubljana, Slovenia for his third and final posting as an MSG on January 5th, 2006. SSgt Edwards was promoted meritoriously to his current rank on 2 July, 2006.
