    was with B 1/7...for whole tour...point squad leader back to point rat
    Bravo and Delta pulled quite a few ops togeather while i was in country

  2. I was with Delta 1/7 from July 15th 1970 til the end of September 1970 when they pulled out of Nam. I was the 1st squad leader 3rd platoon and took over from Rod Sharp. I move on from there to Lima 3/5 at hill 34, and then to Golf 2/1 at Marble Mountain in January 1971. Got medivaced out from there from the to Okinawa after being hit my second time. Semper Fi!

    People say their heroes are Superman & Batman flying around & protecting comic book cities. It’s obvious to me they’ve never met a Marine because if they did their heroes would be wearing Dress Blues or Combat Boots, not spandex & capes.

    So here is a big thank you for your service & wishing you a happy 4th of July weekend from a very thankful & proud American.

Growing up on the south side of Chicago was my whole world as a kid. I came from a poor Mexican American family so going to school and hanging around the neighborhood was pretty much the extent of my life experience.

Marine Corps Boot Camp was my first real experience outside of mommy and daddy's house. When I look back at it now I think to myself, what a way to get started in life. Talk about a rude awakening and culture shock. Nothing like a Marine
