Military Biography:

I was 18 yrs old in 1968 with an 0331 MOS, a Colt 45 Auto on my hip and an M60 resting on my right shoulder. I was scared until I killed my first NVA. Realizing how easy it was we started getting a taste for killing them. Fortunately, they never took the chain off of our necks so we could never get after them like we could have done. Truth is, we were led by politicians and not Marine commanders. Looking back, in retrospect there was no way to win. Win what? It seems counter intuitive but by leaving Vietnam we won. The undeclared war injected huge amounts of dollars into the economies of SE Asia which became a bulwark against Red China. SF
