I see you were on the USS Gunston Hall for a short period in July 2002. I mounted out from Camp Pendleton on her, with Alpha Company First Tank Battalion in '65. Lots of good memories from that flat bottom sardine can. As I recall the racks were stacked 3 or 4 high with shoulder width separation between rows.

We were in route to Australia, after a number of successful raids, when a monsoon over took us. That boat pitched side to side and nearly capsized. Made for some intense moments but she held her own. It would be an honor to join up with fellow L/Cpl in your group.
