First off I would like to let you know that I'm not seeking comfortable living standards in the Marines. Just want to be a Marine. Have a couple questions though. I'm a professional DJ, spin every weekend live at different venues/bars/events throughout Orange County. Obviously I'm not going to have the time to be doing that anymore but I still have a strong passion for this and want to continue even as a bedroom DJ. Setup isn't too big but I'm just worried about annoying my roommate(s), but I'll post a picture just so you can tell me if the size is an issue too. Really just looking for a straight answer, as an enlisted will I still be able to spin on my free time in the barracks?

You might want to find an escort and take a tour of Marine Corps Base 29 Palms or Camp Pendleton and see just what living conditions are like for a young Marine and how much room you are allowed for personal items like a turntable and speakers

I think you could make it work, you might be able to fit it in your wall locker or coffin, but I wouldn't do it as a boot or make a f*ck ton of noise with it, quick way to **** people off.

i don't see any reason why not, just understand space is pretty limited and anything you have in your room is just another thing to clean for field day.

I had a headmate (shared bathroom) who had 2 keyboards a drum set and guitar in his barracks room. for the most part he kept it neat and all but hed play so loud that you could hear him half way across the base and housing was complaining(MCAS Iwakuni) hell he pi$$ed me off as well by the music but other things as well. It is all in how you go about it and respect the others living in the barracks. if you have no regard itll get taken away.

Depends on your MOS. Your MOS will determine what base and what living conditions you will have. If your going to be infantry...forget it.

A lot of guys rent storage space at a local establishment for stuff like that.
