New to this site, thought I would check in and introduce myself.
Larson, Darrell, Sergeant, E-5
MCRD, San Diego, October 1967
ITR, Camp Pendleton, MOS 0311
March 1968-June 1968 3/28 Pendleton
July 1968, 3/27 Pendleton
August 1968, Requested to attend NBC School, Anniston, Alabama
Upon completion of school Marine Corps changed my primary mos to 5711/0311, at least they let me keep the 0311.
October 1968, Back to 3/27
March 1969-October 1970, MAG-11, Danang, RVN
Original orders to report to Danang, RVN, suppose to have been "ground forces" upon reporting in the pogues decided that MAG-11 needed a 5711 so off to the wild blue yonder I went.
EAS 16 October 1970. One of the few "grunts" in the Wing.
That is my brief Marine Corps history.
Side note to this is when I came home from Nam, I was not even old enough to buy a beer in my home state of Minnesota. Did not turn 21 until June of 1971. Something was wrong with that.

We have a great crew of Marines in here from WW II to the present............
Throw your sea bag in a corner, pull up a footlocker, sit and chat awhile.........Get a chance stop over at the Slope Chute, Gary and I will buy you a few drinks........But watch out for Chesty.......likes his beer, only dog I found could open a beer can........LOL

"AGAIN WELCOME ABOARD."
