I want to be a Marine, so a Marine is what i will become. I have narrowed down my MOS options to Infantry and Artillery. From what i have heard (whether true or bs) Artillery has been conducting Infantry missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, so if this is true i would obviously like to be trained as an Infantryman. Does anyone know whether this is true or not. Any information will be much appreciated.

It is true, but don't join 08 to be an 03, if you want to be a grunt go 03.

Artillery usually gets cannibalized. The ones (Marines) I saw were guards at a DETFAC. There were some Army arty guys on base my last deployment but all they did was illumination mission.

Counter battery seems to be intact, but I'm not sure if that's its own MOS...plus they just mostly played COD.

If you want to be in the infantry I would suggest doing Motor T first.

Does Motor T have enough bodies that they'd let someone lat-move? Well I guess since we're in AF now, Motor-T is a lot less busy.

In Nam the infantry found the enemy and fixed them but the field artillery killed them.
