Getting the MOS you want.

Hello, Marines.
I would to DEP in two years, and would to like to get a 0331 MOS. Now would signing a longer intial enlistment help me get that MOS? Also would having good refrences help? Thank you, Marines.

You will not get to pick an exact MOS like 0331, you get contracted to 03xx and then if your lucky you will get 0331 once at SOI/ITB.

No, signing a longer contract will not get you anything. And having good references doesn't mean a thing to a recruiter. Your best reference is yourself, stay out of trouble and stay motivated.
