Take a field jacket. No, forget that. The Marine Corps will give you one.

The point? You will have everything that you need issued to you.

(I did have a small layer of ice at the top of my canteen in Nov. '62 at Camp Pendelton ITR.)

Give it your all!

Caesar- I live near MCRD SD and you don't really have anything to worry about as far as weather goes. It'll be colder in the mornings and nights, but that's about it. Rain, sure, but if you're from any other state, I'm sure you've seen worse. :)

During Field week when you are camping out and walking up in those mnts at 0400 (Camp Pendelton) it is going to be cold. The coldest part is when you do night humps and come back and the sweat is all on our body. It gets way cold.

well that'll be a change from 100 weather in texas. When we PT and sweat hear we like it cuz it cools ya down not make you cold.
I like the cold better anyways tho.

be worrying about is the weather.

But just in case pack an extra set of flannel PJ's....

and take an extra blanket, and heavy duty socks....

If the D.I. asks you what they are for, just tell him that you brought them to keep you warm at night......

LOL

HAHAHA. Don't worry the Drill Instructors will let you keep an electric blanket. I bet if you really ask they would set up a little space heater by you. Don't worry about the heat. It will be nice weather while you are there. It is not to hot or too cold during febuary and those months.

Reminds me of a story:

I was at a Reserve Station in Perrysburg for a Poolee meeting. We were setup in a classroom, asking questions to a PFC who had just returned from the Island. One kid raised his hand and says "Do they have microwaves that you can use?". Politely and quietly, the PFC pointed through the window in the door to the room across the hall and said "I'm sorry, I think you're in the wrong room." He moved on, nobody got the joke. Until later of course when we were leaving the room, a big sign posted above the door "Navy". :D
