Can anyone do a lateral movement? Better yet, when is someone allowed to do a lateral movement?

Young man, why don't you worry about EARNING the title of United States Marine first and getting through boot camp, MCT training and your MOS school first, before you start worrying about LAT moves.

I am asking those questions because I'm not thinking about the 25 yard mark(the here and now), I am thinking about where I want to be and my future in the Marines at the 50 yard mark(5-10 years later). No offense but, I really am getting tired of your harassment and rather rude comments when all I am doing is exactly what this forum is for, asking questions. I am well aware of the trials I have to overcome. Now I'm filling in the details. I don't think there's anything wrong with me trying to get where I want in something I've wanted for a very long time. To put it lightly I don't like the fact that you are so abrassive with your responses, you are not a DI. My father was however one, and I think the man who taught me to think about the 50 and 100 yard marks would agree that asking questions like that, is rather intelligent, instead of going in to the service and not having plans or a set path and just going with the flow, instead of being something like a leader or doing something I love. If I'm not mistaken half the battle is oreparation... Being more prepared then the opposition.

If I'm not mistaken half the battle is preparation... Being more prepared then the opposition, and me asking questions prepares me for what I have before me to overcome. According to statistics, the majority of failures in training in any branch, is the lack of preparation both physically and mentally, I get the physical in PT and, this plus my own research or private help is the mental. I appologize if I'm being disrespectful but, I do not appreciate being talked down to like I'm just any dumb civilian. I grew up around the Marine Corps and, have wanted this since I can remember. I'm not trying to be rude but, merely making a point that I don't appreciate being treated like dirt when I haven't hit Boot Camp yet and, all I asked was a question. My recruiters and when I get to Boot then I can be dirt. This forum may be here and nasty civilians may read it but, this isn't Boot camp, and that doesn't mean you can jump down anyone's throat. I will be a Marine just like you were soon, I'm merely doing whats smart and all the poolees want on here is an answer not insults. I know some question are dumb or frustrating to answer but that doesn't mean you need to be rude about it. I am asking legitimate questions please just answer them.

You shouldnt need to worry about a LAT move, just get the job that you want before you go in, But from what ive seen, most people do a LAT move after their first re-enlistment. But if you said your dad is a Marine just ask him, he would know just as good as anyone else on here or your recruiter would be another good one to ask thats their job to know the answers to most any question about the Corps.

Annnnnd, that'll be one extraction. Lets try a 7 day timeout to figure out we don't disrespect MARINES.

Hello Marines, I had a generalized question that I hope
someone can answer, is there anyway for me to lat move at the two year mark, or if you have a injury? Because my back is been getting worse, and I feel like if I say something, I'll get medsep'd out, so I generally kept quiet about it, but I could not deal with the pain anymore, and recently talked to a doctor and he told me to see a specialist about it, and I have to go in the morning, if I'm dignosed with a condition, could I possibly lat move due to injury?

Normally latmoves are authorized as part of reenlistment incentives. I don't know of anyone who made a latmove mid-enlistment.
