I know once I become a Marine I get paid on the !st and the 15th. The 2010 pay chart says a Marine with less than 4 months of service recieves $1339. My question is will I recieve the $1339 every two weeks or is that amount split into two pay checks per month. I tried searching for the answer and couldnt find any help. Any response would be helpful. I really dont care about the money, Im just asking for my dad. He was curious.

The pay charts refer to monthly pay so that's 1339 a month before taxes nd other **** you'll pay for. You'll prolly get like 500-600 each pay cycle(1st nd 15th)

Don't forget, in addition to taxes and whatnot, that during bootcamp, a certain amount will be deducted, for you PX visits and some items...

I don't know about haircuts, but for hygiene stuff, some initial gear, and whatnot. it gets taken out of the paycheck, in form of a prepaid VISA or whatever they use... ;)

Yeah, this thread has derailed, ALOT. Just to make sure everyone knows, your monthly payment is split and half and paid on the respective dates (kind of makes sense dont ya think?). If you know how to save money and not spend it, you will make a big bank to be honest. I know a LCpl who puts 1000 a month into his savings. That gives him $150 a month to spend. If your not 21, you cant spend money on drinking really, so that should EASILY get you through it. That is also with his phone bill payed. If you watch yourself and what you spend, it will work out for your favor in the end.

i never got a DEP ID card either, heck, i didn't even get a welcome aboard package haha. One of the recruiters at my RSS did give me a shirt and water bottle after he saw me get 15 pull ups for the first time, so that was nice.
Oh okay thought I was the only one. I did 14 and still got the water bottle, then lost it a poolee function..

Lol I got the water bottle to take the pee test at the station before going to MEPs....I think I earned it with 4 bottles of water in like 8min lol.

I don't know... by my math this thread went to hell 9 days ago. I think it's official....the mods have cut us off. They split the site in two, just like Korea... Marines in the south, retarded Poolees in the north. Today is a sad day at Leatherneck.com.
