Changing states?

I just have a quick question for anyone who might know. I am currently in the DEP in Jacksonville, NC. Shipdate, 20100222. I am thinking about moving back to NY to live with my mother until I ship out.

My question is... How does this work? Would my recruiter transfer me to a recruiter in NY?

And would my ship date change?

hmm. I'd ask this in the Ask a Marine section. Maybe Gunnery Sergeant C can help. I think the only problem would be you missing mandatory Pool functions and what not.


If it was possible to switch recruiters) Your shipdate would probably change because you are changing not only your RS, but the region, and each region has it's own numbers. If the NY RS doesn't have any shipdates until next June, you wouldn't be going until then.

But these are all assumptions. PM a Mod to have this thread moved over to "Ask a Marine" We poolees don't know a lot, if any, about admin type stuff like that.

Talk to your recruiter they will set you up. We have a poolee from Michigan who did the EXACT same thing.
