So yesterday my recruiter texted me and asked for my Drivers License #/Exp. Date, sent it to him but didn't think much of it. Well today I showed up to PT and was told I have received my UT (58xx - Military Police & Corrections) contract. It was my 1st choice and by far my favorite MOS Field. They said the Marine Corps does not need Corrections right now so I should be getting 5811 - Military Police...I'm beyond stoked. A huge thank you to all of the recruiters at my RSS. For PT a Sgt took us on a run through all of the backstreets, taking us around in circles and going wherever for 50 minutes straight...I got completely murdered hah...didnt give up though. Going to have to stretch/ice/heat all of tonight though that's for sure. Unless I feel like not walking tomorrow!

Whenever I feel like quitting during PT I think of all of the Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan, all of the fallen Marines & Soldiers and specifically a friend of mine who was KIA, Army Sergeant William M. Sigua, 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division. RIP.

Never quit and never give up!

Man, you got some moto. Don't you wish you could just bottle it up and have some all the time.

Congrats on the job. I'm still waiting to hear back on mine. Anxiousness is killer

Ask your recruiter?
I don't know.
I'd assume since you obviously can't test and obtain a driver's license while at boot camp, it'd probably have to be before...

You have to get it before you ship out. Just go get one it's not that hard.

Try the search bar first, I think there is a thread made by a Marine that just went through it.

If not, Ask a Marine is the better place. We poolees don't know much anything after stepping on the yellow footprints:marine:

If you are an MP in the Army your OSUT (Basic and MOS School together) is 21 weeks and just basic is 9 weeks, so that's 12 weeks of "MP Training"...so I assume the Marine Corps MP School is roughly 12 weeks as well seeing as it's at the the same base/school...that's just a guess though. I'll go search for the thread by someone who just went through it.

My recruiter said MP school was roughly 17 weeks.
