Flags to fly at half-staff for New York Marine
ALBANY - Governor David Paterson has directed that flags on New York State government buildings be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, in honor of a Marine who was killed in Afghanistan on August 5, 2009.
Lance Corporal James Argentine of Farmingdale was killed while supporting combat operations in Farah Province. He was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment of the 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force based at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
“On behalf of all New Yorkers, I extend our deepest sympathy to the family, friends and fellow Marines of Lance Corporal Argentine,” said Governor Paterson. “His death in the service of his country in a noble cause will not be forgotten.”
