I WANNA SEE WHAT YALL CAN COME UP WITH LYRICALLY ABOUT THE MARINES TO SEE YA SKILLS
Born on a Mountian top
Raised by a bear
Double row of Jaw teeth
Double coat of hair
Cast Iron Balls
and a 10 in rod
I'm a mean M.F.
I'm MARINE by GOD
Do you want NEW stuff.... or the "OLD CORPS" cadences ??

Here's one that mr cobb should remember - it's about Wake Island, circa WWII
December the seventh we heard about Pearl,
We knew we'd be next on the list.
The men of our Corps, four fifty, no more
All swore to the death to resist.
Chorus:
Wake Island, Wake Island,
It's not even marked on the maps
Our Corps raised her name to honor and fame
When they stopped the advance of the Japs.
Cut off from supplies with no hope of aid
We sighted the first Japanese,
With thousands of troops and a task force of ships
They thought they could take us with ease.
They sent in their subs, their ships and their planes
They shelled us by day and by night,
Surrender they said, we laughed at their threats
We're only beginning to fight.
Our four hundred fifty cost six thousand Japs
Our fighters downed twenty eight planes,
We sank two destroyers and one submarine
Six others got shelled for their pains.
Our plan was to fight to the very last man
But Deveraux gave this command,
There's a thousand civilians I can't sacrifice
We'll have to surrender our band.
Yes, we lay down our arms on the twenty-third day
The Japs cheered the news of defeat.
But they could not believe a few crummy Marines
Had stopped the whole Japanese fleet.

I'm still waiting on something to feel...
none o' us could do any way... or would want to
I'm sure greensideout does have something much better - perhaps if you showed some respect, you'd get some and then learn something as well. He's a Vietnam Vet with 4 years in the USMC - what do you have? Don't forget to say YO to your Drill Instructor (aka Mac Daddy) when you get to boot.
Now then, you asked for Marine Lyrics, here's something for you...
THE BAND OF BROTHERS BALLAD
Written and submitted by:Maj.Paul Sanders,USMC (Ret)
The Chosin Few are marching, into historys books at last
We feel we Chosin Brothers played a part in what has passed
We have a special memory, and we have a special place
With those bands of special fighting men, who have honored every race
Oh could our fallen brothers, know the honor they helped bring
To God and to our Country, to their memory now we sing
You gave your life for freedom, for famlies and for friends
And for that you have our special love, and a thanks that never ends
So onward Band of Brothers, hear ye now that special drum
It sounds alone for heros, when that special time has come.
For some there is no drum beat, so its hard to tell them why
There's a pounding heart, a quicking pose, and a glisten in the eye.
If God gives grace to warriors, serving his holy name
if a special place in heaven waits, for those who in honor came
Then those who served with honor, near that frozen Chosin shore
Will have His grace in a special place, when they stand at heavens door.

THE BAND OF BROTHERS MARCH
Authors: Frank G.Gross, I/3/7 Marines
When the eagle makes a stand,
Upon a distant land,
And the spirit of the corps is in his eye he lays his anchor down,
Upon the troubled ground,
And the world knows the words of Semper Fi.
From the sound of different drummers,
In the valley of the thunder,>br> And a hundred marching men passing by,
Each man became a brother,
Depending on each other,
And the world knows the words of Semper Fi.
His mighty wings will span,
With the anchor in his hand,
as the mountains catch his shadow flying by and on this frozen land,
The golden eagle stands,
And the world knows the words of Semper Fi,
From the sound of differnt drummers,
In the valley of the thunder,
And a hundred marching men passing by,
Each man became a brother,
Depending on each other,
And the world knows the words of Semper Fi.
Though the years have come and gone,
The spirit still goes on,
Tonight we will hold our banners high,
To the brotherhood so true,
The proud the chosin few,
And the world knows the words of Semper Fi.

I GOT THE FROZEN CHOSIN FROST BITE BITTEN BLUES
Written and submitted by Frank G.Gross
I got the frozen Chosin frost bite bitten blues,
I got the frozen Chosin frost bite bitten blues,
And over in north korea I feel it down to my shoes.
I wish I was sleeping in a big old army tent,
Yeah,I wish I was sleeping In a big old army tent,
So if you find one thats vacant I got a sleeping bag thats up for rent.
It was cold last night, cold the night before,
If they sent us Betty Grable wont be cold no more,
I got the frozen Chosin frost bite bitten blues,
I got the frozen Chosin frost bite bitten blues,
And over in north korea I feel it down to my shoes,
Theres a town in Korea that the people call yu dam ni,
Theres a town in Korea that the people call yu dam ni,
Well my damm damm knees are shaking as my body is starting to freeze.
I got a BAR that wieghs three thousand pounds,
I got a BAR that wieghs three thousand pounds,
And when I climb up those mountains my ass is down on the ground,
And I threw away the tripod too.
It was cold lat night, cold the night before,
If they sent us Betty Grable, wont be cold no more,
We'll be home for Christmas to trim up the Christmas tree,
We'll be home for Christmas, so MacAuther keeps telling me,
Gone to see that yule tide season, in nineteen seventy three.
Man thats a long time now.
Going to catch a gook, and fry him up in a pan,
Going to catch a gook, and fry him up in a pan,
Cause I know that he will taste much better, then these C Rations in a can.
I got the frozen chosin frost bite bitten blues,
I got the frozen Chosin Frost bite bitten blues,
And over in north korea I feel it down to my shoes.
It was cold last night, cold the night before,
If they sent us Betty Grable, it wont be cold no more,
I Got the frozen chosin frost bite bitten blues,
And over in North Korea, I feel it down to my shoes.
Man that was cold.

FREEDOM IS NOT FREE
Veterans of Korea
Those members of an Armed Force
Once the mightiest of them all
Whose heroes stood so tall?
Only remnants of that once proud force
Were left to answer the call
When the bugles sounded in Korea
Some gave their all
Others were left to remember
Where their comrades did fall
Their countrymen at home
Didn't remember at all
But as veterans we remember
Why we answered the Call
As long as America has men like us
There will be freedom for all

Bless 'em All
circa WWII
Chorus:
Bless 'em all, bless 'em all
The long and the short and the tall,
There'll be no promotion this side of the ocean
So cheer up my lads bless 'em all
We sent for the Army to come to Tulagi
But General McArthur said no,
I'll tell you the reason it isn't the season
Besides you've got no USO.
Well we sent for the Navy to come to Tulagi
The dear little Navy agreed,
In ten thousand sections from eighteen directions
Oh Lord what a screwed up stampede.
Then we sent for the Air Force to come to Tulagi
The Air Force appeared on the scene,
And they bombed out two donkeys, five horses three monkeys
And seven platoons of Gyrenes.
Then we sent for the Coast Guard to come to Tulagi
And waited for them to appear,
They sent back a letter we like it here better
But maybe we'll make it next year.
Then we sent for the nurses to come to Tulagi
The nurses they made it with ease,
Their arse on the table each bearing this label
Reserved for the officers please.
Bless 'em all, bless 'em all
Bless 'em all, bless 'em all
The long and the short and the tall,
Bless all the sergeants and corporals too
Bless all the privates and above all bless you
So we're saying good bye to them all
As back to our fox holes we'll crawl,
There'll be no promotion this side of the ocean
So cheer up my lads bless 'em all.
- One line that the Korean vets put in went like this...
The snow is ass deep to a man in a jeep
But who's got a jeep?
Bless 'em all!

The Man In The Moon
circa WWII
Now here is a story about the Raiders
They shipped us all over to fight the invaders
Roll your leg over, roll your leg over
Roll your leg over the man in the moon.
Now we have a Colonel, his name is Sam Griffith
In all of our battles he's right in there with it
Roll your leg over, roll your leg over
Roll your leg over the man in the moon.
Oh, we have a doctor, his name is McLarney
Instead of a treatment he shoots you the blarney
Roll your leg over, roll your leg over
Roll your leg over the man in the moon.
Oh, we go to sickbay when we are in pain
And old doctor Skinner say he's got the same
Roll your leg over, roll your leg over
Roll your leg over the man in the moon.
We're glad all the Sergeants are not like old Pettit
We shoot the of booger and never regret it
Roll your leg over, roll your leg over
Roll your leg over the man in the moon.
And we're glad that the Sergeants are not like McCayne
He drives all the Corporals and Privates insane
Roll your leg over, roll your leg over
Roll your leg over the man in the moon.
We've sung you our song and now it is ended
We hope that the officers aren't offended
Roll your leg over, roll your leg over
Roll your leg over the man in the moon.

Moving On
circa Korea
When you hear the patter of tiny feet
It's the Dogface army in full retreat
They're moving on, they'll soon be gone
They're burning gas, they're hauling ass
They're moving on.
Mama San moving down the track
Gyrene baby strapped on her back
We're moving on, we'll soon be gone
If she catches Papa San
He'll be moving on.
She says, hey Marines, you mad at me
All because I give you VD
She's moving on, she'll soon be gone
Her honey bucket turned over in the road
She's moving on.
Here come the Commies running down the pass
Playing a burp gun on a Gyrene's ass
He's moving on, he's moving on
They're flying too high for this little old guy
He's moving on.
Oh, the old hound dog was feeling fine
Till they dipped his butt in turpentine
He's moving on, he's moving on
He crashed the gate like a P-38
He's moving on
And the old tomcat was feeling mean
Till he caught his tail in the sewing machine
He's moving on, he's moving on
He missed a stitch, he hit the ditch
He's moving on.
The Lord above was eating beans
That's how he made the U. S. Marines
We're moving on, We're moving on
They say we smell but we fight like hell
And we're moving on.

Here's one for sea goin' wing nuts

Cuts and Guts
circa Korea
Navy fliers fly off the big carriers, Army fliers aren't seen o'er the sea
But we're in the lousy Marine Corps and we get these danged CVE's
Chorus:
Cuts and guts, cuts and guts
The guys that make carriers are nuts, are nuts
Cuts and guts, cuts and guts
The guys that make carriers are nuts.
The Midway has thousand foot runways, the Leyte eight hundred and ten
We'd still not have much of a carrier with two of ours laid end to end.
Our catapult shots are so hairy, our catapult gear is red hot
It never goes off when you're ready, it always goes off when you're not.
We envy the boys on the big ones and we'd trade in a minute or two
Cause we'd like to see those poor bastards try doing the things that we do.
Some day when this fracas is over and back at El Torro we'll be
We'll load up with rockets and napalm and we'll sink every damned CVE
---------------------------------------
And there you have it. Marine lyrics, just like you asked for - just like I'd been waiting for.

Earlier I stated that there had been a Korean version of “Bless ‘Em All”. It can be found in the book The March To Glory by Robert Leckie, about the US Marines experience in Korea and their march out of the Chosin Reservoir. An excellent book, by the way. Anyway, here’s how the Korean version goes:
Bless ‘em all, Bless ‘em all,
The Commies, the U.N. and all,
Them slant-eyed Chink soldiers hit Hagaru-ri
And now know the meaning of “U.S.M.C.”
So, we’re saying good-by to them all
As home through the mountains we crawl.
The snow is ass-deep to a man in a jeep
But who’s got a jeep?
Bless ‘em all!
Bless ‘em all, Bless ‘em all,
The long and the short and the tall.
We landed at Inchon and old Wolmi-do
Crossed the Han River and took Yongdong-po.
But we’re saying good-by to it all,
To Hamhung and Hungnam and Seoul.
There’ll be no gum-beatin’, we’re glad we’re retreatin’
So cheer up me lads
Bless ‘em all!
Bless ‘em all, Bless ‘em all,
The adm’rals an’ commodores all.
Bless General MacArthur and Bless Harry, too
Bless the whole brass-hatted Tokyo crew.
For we’re saying good-by to it all
We’re Truman’s “police force” on call.
So put back your pack on, the next stop is Saigon
An’ cheer up me lads
Bless ‘em all!
assault,
I'm not saying I can do any better but I'm sure if I sat down with you, you could do better. I've come up with my share of cadences in JROTC and such but I'm no song writer. I'll leave that up to the rest of you. Personally, I write what I feel. I write a lot but I don't write songs.

seeley,
i appreciate that
i write what i feel as well, wether people want to believe it or not. all i asked for people to write were marine lyrics THAT THEY CAME UP WITH. not Frank G. Ross (no disrespect intended) but i meant it for the spurr of the moment lyrics the rhymes that flow in their heads when they think of the past, present and future. if they cant do it i would greatley appreciate it and i appreciate you words of assistance rather than criticism.
thank you

The United States Marines
Who raised the frigging flag on Iwo Jima, on Iwo Jima, on Iwo Jima
Who raised the frigging flag while the Japs were playing tag
The United States Marines.
Who led the bloody slaughter in Tarawa, in Tarawa, in Tarawa
Who led the bloody slaughter while MacArthur walked on water
The United States Marines.
Who mopped up hiding places in Tulagi, in Tulagi, in Tulagi
Who mopped up hiding places while the Air Force washed their faces
The United States Marines.
Who took it up their asses on Wake Island, on Wake Island, on Wake Island
Who took it up their asses while the Navy watched through glasses
The United States Marines.
Who found it bloody going on Okinawa, on Okinawa, on Okinawa
Who found it bloody going while civilians raked the dough in
The United States Marines.
And when the war was won in Bougainville, in Bougainville, in Bougainville
They said it was such fun, so frig 'em all but one
The United States Marines.

let me start by saying this is obviously not your place if you have nothing but critical notes. I agree that respect is deserved by the ones before me and all the rest, but ive learned ny lesson (for your info) and the last thing i need is another critic like yourself ruining an attitude thats already been mended and looked at so thank you but no thank you for your concern.

should I be thankful for speaking "english?"
assault69, Wizard was just givin you a heads up before you make a Marine mad and get chewed out. if you had learned your lesson you would take his criticism in stride and not get aggravated.
thank you mitchy(it's HER, but no worries!), and i normally am never strict or a critic, very rarely do i have anything wrong or bad to say to anyone, so i aplolgize if you took it the wrong way. it might have come out wrong, i didnt mean to step on any toes or to **** you off. dont take it like im criticising you, cuz thats not my style, i prefer to encourage people. read some of my posts and you'll find that out. I've seen Marine's be offended because a new member said something, i was just giving you a heads up. if it came out wrong and you were offended, i apologize. no need to be angry at each other and on a more encouraging note that i did not have time to add in my last post, you have a very good talent for writing, keep it going it will get you far, Wizard over and out.
Assualt69
I'm not here to hawk you or anything, but you might want to get used to 'critisim'. When you ship and go to Recruit Training 'critisim' can most likely be expected. Get used to it, it only makes you a better person. Everyone that's saying things to you are only trying to help you out.
